Welcome to the beginning of the the Kala Nation cultural movement.Kala means tribe or bond.In old West Africa Kalas were the building block behind the great empires that linked all African societies together in a complex structure. This kept wars down and protected smaller villages from stronger ones.At the top was the apex kingdom called Mali, which means where the king of kings live.

Sacred Cows:Light, Bright, Damn Near White
In the year 2006 I began the Kalagenesis Blog.I said the biggest problem facing the African American community was Sacred Cows. Many people disagreed with me on this saying what is that?Sacred Cows are beliefs, customs, habits, traditions people hold on to to their own demise.I said self hate is the biggest Sacred Cow followed by colorism, status seeking, lack of reading, and materialism. The one Sacred Cow we carry around is the Sacred Cow of light skin worship. This comes from the plantation system in which we view the nearer we are to the White man in color or status the better we are as a people. You have middle aged Black women bragging about their so called privilege over her darker skinned counter parts. The treatment she thinks is special is what people should be treating each other anyway. Why are people of color so colorstruck? Why do we talk about how equal we are but we use the White man's system to measure ourselves by?
Pan Africanism is the only answer
The best way is fight the coming enslavement of the Black race through mind manipulation and mental enslavement is through Pan Africanism. The rejection of America and its White Supremecy.People walk around with a badge of superiority under this system just because they may be lighter toned. This is why the African American is in a far worst situation than any other Black group.Anywhere there is this division you will find a broken culture, families, crime, poverty and self hate.Only a Kala Nation under God will survive.

Sacred Cows.pt 2 Robert Johnson,Black America's new Baron

Do we have a right to criticize members of of community who are role models and super successful? This question has been asked by every generation of African Americans since the first freed slaves started organizing and fighting for our freedom. Our culture is unique to the African world because we lost most of our African culture, were forced to take European names and we were mixed with the blood of our slave masters. At times we choose leaders based on who looked the most White.Or in order to lead you had to look light skinned straight hair, look at any of the early Black leaders almost all had looked White. This was self hate and self doubt. This is why most of these so called civil rights leaders think they can sell us on a White savior(Clinton)because we doubt our own kind. This does not mean Barack Obama is the answer, but before you can get answers you have to ask the right questions.
As I have said in the Kalagenesis'Sacred Cows'are those beliefs in which a group of people hold sacred even to their own demise. The second biggest sacred cow we as African American's have is when someone makes a lot of money or has a Phd or any education they are always correct. This is rooted in an enslaved people.Again if I am making you uneasy to bad the truth will set us free.Being stifled in America from reaching our absolute full potential most of us will never realize our dreams. Many of us will be successful, but the White man has already decided that their already enough rich Black folks, so anymore will pose a threat to their dominance.Admittedly Robert Johnson founder of BET,(Black Entertainment Television)said he knows there wont be anymore Blacks in his position any time soon.He knows White American thinks he and Oprah are enough.Get that some other race is deciding who shall blow up in Black America! Now Johnson to his credit is the first Black owner of a big time sports team the Charlette Bobcats he said he bought it for 300 million with no affirmative Action handout. He created BET when an early client wanted to buy a cable channel for the elderly so he decided to create one for the Black community. He said from the start he was about money, money and more money. He is a businessman before anything BET had to be profitable. Many of his critics wanted BET to be more cultural, educational, political, but BET format stuck to videos supplied by artist for free.BET was the first African American company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.Five years ago he sold BET for 3 Billion dollars making him the first Black billionaire.BET now reaches over 65 million homes in America. His company RLJ companies in partnership with the Carllyse group(the utility in the Afganistan war) formed a capital equity company to purchase 100 hotels. He wants to use pension funds of African Americans in civil services across the country and by forming new Black business groups under him.He is poised to be a baron of Black America making other Blacks rich in the process. And he still has not forgotten his roots. With all this do we still have the right to voice our disagreement with his actions?Or are we bound by the second most dangerous 'sacred cow'?

Sacred Cows

In life we sometimes find it hard to give up symbols, items or people that we hold as sacred. We will hold these things even though it will be to our detrement. Many people ask me what do I mean by sacred cows?In the country of India a sect of the people called Hindus worship their cows and other animals in their mist. They will not harm them for any reason.Rats run free and get fat spreading disease on the streets of Bombay.People consider them the spirits of their ancestors reincarnated. The cow holds the most esteemed post in Hindu culture. They believe a very close relative is reincarnated in the cow.Now the problem is that people for years have been starving in that country, and not only don't the people eat the cows they will feed it the last bit of grain.Does this sound sane?Of course not.But when you have believed something for hundreds of years you hold on to it even to your own demise.
In America Black America in particular we have sacred cows or beliefs we hold to our demise. We still believe in to many quarters in our community that talking proper English, working hard, and be honest and law abiding is being White or square. We have a false belief in black unity, and to stick together even when we are in the wrong. We justify this by saying we are an oppressed people, and by any means to make in the White mans world we must do anything to get ahead.Yes slavery was wrong and unjustified, and those people who still want to oppress us will be dealt with.Have we forgotten the bible? The ten commandments?Could it be God is judging us for or sins? For too long we never condemned bad behavior among each other.Even during slavery their were some who preyed on others and get away with it why?Because he knew he could get away with it so long as he is in good hands with the master. It is same today in music and entertainment.People sell themselves out for money and the only thing they fear is the White man.Not the wrath of their people.A sacred cow of ours is nothing is wrong so long as you are making money in the White mans world.Pornography, murder, gangster rap, prostitution, stripping, gambling ect. This did not just happen over night. It was always there, good news is that rap music exposed this side of our culture that we tried to keep hidden. Now we can deal with it.We need to get rid of the sacred cows of false beliefs that is holding us back. The White man or White America is not our enemy the enemy is in the mirror looking back at us.Our still love for light skin, non black features. These things sacred we hold on to because we scared to give these beliefs. We find refuge in ignorance and self hate.It is a comfort zone. Now our demise is at hand the self hate is now seen on tv,and make no mistake the whole world sees it.
Lets get rid of the sacred cows and if you have a sacred cow then tell Kala Nation and share it with us.
Kala Nation
